English Intensive Summer Camp for Teens

Program Overview
 

The English Intensive Summer Camp for Teens at Vanier College is designed for students aged 12 to 17 who want to strengthen their English language skills in a dynamic and engaging environment.

Through a combination of speaking, comprehension, reading, and writing activities, participants improve their English while interacting with peers in a supportive group setting.

This summer language camp offers an interactive and immersive learning experience, allowing students to develop confidence using English both inside and outside the classroom.

Students may register for one to five weeks, depending on their availability and learning goals.

Learning Experience

Students attend classes at Vanier College from Monday to Thursday, where they participate in structured language lessons designed to improve communication skills and overall English proficiency.

Each Friday, students take part in a guided excursion in Montreal, giving them the opportunity to practice their English in real-world settings while discovering the city.
 

Student levels are evaluated during the first class, and groups are organized according to both age and language proficiency:

• Ages 12 – 14
• Ages 15 – 17

This ensures a learning environment that is developmentally appropriate and engaging for all participants.


 

Summer 2026 Schedule

Program Dates: July 6 – August 7, 2026

Schedule: Monday to Friday

Class Time: 9:30 AM – 12:30 PM

Registration Deadline: Weekly on Wednesday
 

Students may enroll for any combination of one to five weeks during the program period.

Daily Schedule:

9:30 AM – 10:00 AM: Introductory activity

10:00 AM – 11:30 AM: In-class language learning

11:30 AM – 11:45 AM: Break

11:45 AM – 12:30 PM: Outdoor activity (weather permitting) designed for interactive language practice
 

Friday Excursions

Every Friday, students participate in an excursion within Montreal.

These outings allow students to practice their English outside the classroom while exploring the city.
 

Examples of excursions may include:

• Biodome visit
• Mount Royal hiking trip
• cultural and educational activities in Montreal


On excursion days, students proceed directly to the meeting location in the morning and may return home at the end of the activity.

Students are not required to attend the college on these days.


Each Wednesday, participants receive a detailed excursion guide containing:

• meeting location
• schedule information
• required waiver form to be signed by a parent or guardian

The signed waiver must be returned by Thursday.
 

Certificates of Completion

Upon completing the program, students may request a Certificate of Completion confirming their participation and language development.

Certificates are issued upon request only.

To qualify, students must attend at least 70% of their classes.

Certificates are normally issued electronically.
 

Communication

Program communication with students and parents is conducted primarily via email.

Approximately 1–2 days before the program begins, students will receive an email containing important information, including:

• classroom location
• instructor details
• final program instructions
 

Participants are advised to check their email regularly, including junk or spam folders, to ensure they receive all communications.

Vanier College reserves the right to cancel or modify any cohort, program, course, or service prior to the scheduled start date.

If a program is cancelled by the institution, applicable refundable fees will be reimbursed according to institutional policies.
